Founded in 2001 our company has rapidly become the UK market leader in the provision of Video Voice Data and Internet over Satellite and Wireless onboard a variety of vehicles within our key market sectors. We also provide solutions in other environments.
The company is Headquartered and runs all of its operations from a two acre private site within a secure technology park fifteen minutes drive from Junction 28 of the M4 at St. Mellons, Cardiff, Wales. Within the 9000 square feet facility we have enough capacity for the foreseeable future to grow and maintain all of our operations under one roof. Of particular note is that within our facility we have our own R & D Centre, distribution, installation and technical engineering functions and it is from here that we run our Network Operations Centre for our private satellite and GSM networks. One of the company’s key differentiators is that its business model determines that it handles every stage of delivery, support and management and does not subcontract these elements out.
The company moved its operations to Cardiff in March 2006 as part of a £2 Million equity investment package made by Finance Wales which is owned by the Welsh Assembly Government through Finance Wales which owns a substantial stake in the company and the balance and options are or will be owned by all of the company’s employees.
In an unusually good news story in the current global economic downturn the company grew its turnover last year by 70% and has increased its workforce by 100% since the middle of 2008. The company is set to substantially increase turnover, profitability and employment this year and beyond on the back of a contracted order book with Government clients worth significant millions of pounds.

In September 2008 Excelerate achieved ISO 9001 accreditation and it is a member of the Federation of Communications Services (FCS) and an associate member of the Global VSAT Forum (GVF).
The company operates its satellite business under a Satellite Network Earth Station Licence issued by the UK’s Telecommunications regulator Ofcom. Under Licence number 313120 the conditions of the licence allow the company to deploy and manage an unlimited number of terminals at will without intervention from Ofcom subject to the adherence of the conditions of that licence.
