The vast majority of people following Triple Eight and Motorsport in general don’t need it explaining just how much work goes into designing, preparing and maintaining the cars that all race teams hope will give their drivers that essential competitive edge or just how much technological development plays its part. What might not be so obvious however and working away in the back ground is the myriad of other services and technologies that are essential to making a whole team function and the more forward thinking the team and the better resourced they are the better their chances of consistent success.
Excelerate’s core business is in the provision of enough instantly and remotely available satellite broadband to key government agencies such as the emergency services to run any data, voice and video application on Incident Command Vehicles engaged in combating Terrorism, Crime and other critical incidents such as man made and natural disasters such as fires and floods. Our technologies and solutions also have their use in medical and educational applications.
What you probably don’t know is that within four minutes of one of Triple Eight’s Transporter and support vehicles parking up and powering up at the race track an Excelerate motorised auto deployable satellite platform raises on the roof of the vehicle, finds the designated satellite, locks on and completes a connection via our Cardiff based Network Operations Centre at our UK HQ making available a secure satellite broadband link that enables Triple Eight to communicate and transmit and receive data with its own HQ or any other location. All mission critical information kept at Triple Eight’s HQ and any testing and race data generated at the circuit can be exchanged, compared and modified instantly as if each race was being run at Triple Eight’s HQ itself.
But that’s enough of the boring stuff, what we do may be essential but that doesn’t necessarily make it interesting. Due to the nature of our Government type business it is mostly impossible for us to publicise and demonstrate what we do so we thought we would set up part of the facility we provide Triple Eight with in a way that perhaps demonstrates what they and we are doing in real time. So the same link we are providing to transmit and receive their critical data has been increased and improved so that you can see more of what goes on directly and in real time from each race event. As of now Triple Eight have become the first BTC team to provide its supporters with a live video feed directly from a camera located within the pit lane garage so now you can be with the team in the area that keeps the team functioning during the whole day from the minute the preparation begins to the time they are packing up for the next event.
