All fired up for commanding communications

When lives and property are at risk, clear communication is an essential requirement to ensure timely and effective intervention. That’s why today, many of the UK’s Fire & Rescue services depend on Excelerate technology for the secure transmission of voice, video and data communications.

Using a sophisticated combination of mobile satellite and wireless technology, Fire & Rescue services can now convey vital information quickly and accurately, even when operating in the most remote locations and under the most challenging conditions.

Excelerate’s Fire & Rescue customers include London Fire, Strathclyde Fire, Greater Manchester Fire and West Midlands Fire as well as Royal Berkshire, Avon, Lancashire and Kent. Further contracts are in the process of completion for Fife, South Yorkshire and Wiltshire. For all these services, we have demonstrated our ability to deliver high quality, best value solutions that are tailored to meet their specific needs.

For Strathclyde Fire and Rescue, we provided a Transportable Broadband Satellite solution for five of the service’s operational vehicles. This enables Incident Command Units to connect to the Internet and access the brigade’s computer network as if they were sat back at their own workstations.

Strathclyde Fire and Rescue has also acquired Excelerate’s exclusive COFDM Thermal Imaging Camera – a tool designed to help aid risk assessment where additional visual information is required before entering a burning building or to assist operations at search and rescue incidents.
