An increasing amount of what Excelerate does involves the provision of video and surveillance solutions. We believe that the real operational benefits are much more achievable where authorised viewing and control of equipment and supervision of personnel can be provided via multiple transmission options allowing high quality, real and near real time viewing with maximum resilience.

You need the Real Player plug-in installed to view the broadcast. It is a free download available from www.realplayer.com

The availability of this service is subject to Excelerate’s presence at a suitable live event or the permission of our customers to make the live feed available for viewing.

Welcome from David Savage

CEO of Excelerate Technology

We use COFDM,Wireless, 3G, GSM and Satellite either as standalone or combined solutions to ensure that as many people who are required to be in the operational loop can see through the eyes of our surveillance and incident management cameras wherever the cameras need to be and wherever the viewer is located, using multiple viewing device choices. As well as using best of breed technology partners we design and build bespoke solutions too to enable solutions to be provided when there is no “off the shelf” option.

What makes Excelerate different however is that it provides and manages its own Private Satellite and GSM networks from its own Network Operations Centre at its UK Headquarters just off the M4 near Cardiff. Even though a proportion of our revenues are derived from this element of the business we believe that we have to provide the correct and consistent levels of bandwidth for our customers to run the applications they want successfully and at a price that can easily be justified.

To cut it short it is our job to ensure that our customers see the best possible results with the lowest possible bandwidth. They say a picture is worth a thousand words so let me put my money where my mouth is. On this page will normally be a live example of a video feed we are providing for demonstration purposes. It will be run from our demonstration vehicle or customers Incident Command Vehicle that we have built or equipped which may be attending or demonstrating at various exhibitions.

The live video feed you are watching is being fed from one of our on board cameras and is being transmitted via our own privately managed satellite network to our own managed video servers which we host directly at the Teleport and route into the European Internet Backbone where you are accessing it from your PC. For your interest the video transmission is only consuming about 280kbps of bandwidth which we believe is pretty astonishing. Because we are hosting and managing this, virtually any number of people can view this simultaneously without "hijacking" any more than the prescribed level of the available bandwidth from the demonstration vehicle meaning that all other services such as data and voice are guaranteed the amounts of bandwidth they need.

We plan to do a lot more of these internet demonstrations so you don’t even have to move from your PC and some of our blue light customers are offering to occasionally provide locations so that more and more people can see what they and we are doing in the name of progress, more effective incident management and increased resilience. Enjoy the show.
