Everest climber keeps in touch by satellite
Jonathan Davies is on the verge of making an attempt on the summit of Mount Everest from the famously treacherous north face. If successful, he will become the fi rst UK firefighter to achieve this momentous feat. Essential to the success of the expedition have been good communications links - between team members, with base camp and supporters at home. Jonathan has used a ruggedised laptop and BGAN satellite terminal, provided by Excelerate and Thales, to help him do this and also to update his personal blog regularly. http://jdaviesoneverest.blogspot.com
