By logging to www.tripleeight.co.uk fans will be able to see the team preparing the cars before they are released on the track, this all live thanks to Excelerate’s new IP-TV technology via its own satellite equipment and network.

“We are always trying to find new ways to give the fans more access to the race team especially those who cannot make it to the track. Thanks to Excelerate and their expertise, showing what goes on behind the scenes and especially in the garages will now become a reality” said Franck Marie, Commercial and Marketing Director for Triple Eight race Engineering.

David Savage, Chairman and CEO of Excelerate said “We have been providing instantly available satellite broadband connection for the Triple Eight VX Racing Team for about a year now. Working in the background this service and technology means that vital information can be sent and retrieved at any location in real time.

"This may be crucial to running a team and winning races but it can hardly be called entertaining so we have been thinking of ways that VX Racing and BTC fans generally can enjoy an enhanced racing experience over and above what they can only see on TV and utilising what we already provide anyway.

"What they will see from now on is continuous coverage over each race weekend making a 72000 kilometre round trip via satellite and into the internet to the PC’s of anyone who wishes to watch from a link from the VX Racing website. We will expand viewing to suitable mobile devices so that mobile users including those at the circuit can share in the initiative.”

Broadcast will go live from 9AM on Saturday morning till 19h00 Sunday night and will follow the same format for the remaining race weekends of the 2007 season.

“The crew may find it a bit strange at first knowing that they are constantly being watched by people around the world but they will quickly forget about it and get on with the job at hand. Plus it will give us a chance to check on the cars overnight from our hotel and make sure they are all tucked up for a good nights rest” concluded Marie.
