2007: a year of significant growth and contract wins

We have already mentioned being in the winning bid for the HART contract and it really is worth your while reading the Ambulance Today interview to appreciate the significance of a contract that requires everything we currently have in our portfolio being drawn into one immense project to improve The NHS Ambulance Services resilience and service delivery capability at major incidents and events.

What that article and story doesn’t say or demonstrate is the number of significant wins we have achieved over the year including The Metropolitan Police, Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service, Kent Fire and Rescue Service, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service.

These additions incorporate a growing range of technologies, services and customer applications that truly do demonstrate the range, breadth and quality of what we do.

These include supplying one off and multiple Thermal Imaging and CCTV cameras for installation on Fire Service High Reach Platforms with COFDM transmission to ground based remote personnel so that they can safely survey incident conditions with greatly reduced risk to personnel. Where required these images can then be onward transmitted via our satellite solutions so that any authorised personnel, anywhere can view what is going on.

We have supplied top of the line suitcase sized satellite systems to the likes of the Met Police for some very specialized applications connected and managed by Excelerate in real time to ensure that they receive their mission critical bandwidth where they need it, when they need it and at the levels required for their applications.

And then of course we have supplied what we regard as our core business, fast, automatically deployable satellite solution that are integrated into new and existing Incident Command Vehicles, sometimes on their own but invariably these days with a whole suite of data, voice and video solutions and applications to make the whole concept of broadband via satellite anywhere more compelling and much more cost effective. In many cases we are simply the end to end technology partner and work with specialized vehicle builders who either build vehicles or convert vehicles to our customer’s specification or we are more regularly being appointed as prime contractor for whole turnkey projects.

We will when we can and have our customer’s permission be releasing a stock of customer case studies in the New Year but in the meantime this is simply a snap shot of some of the things we have been up to in 2007.
